Hello, I'm Joseph - the brain behind Portem. I've spent a good number of years learning art and graphic designing, and I've started a few businesses too. How did I create this amazing business called Portem? The number one thing that drove me to create this colorful business was passion and then love. These two elements have always been my steering force behind my business and what I do in life.

Before Portem Existed

I have lived a long way to Portem. At the age of 12, I was honored by school for drawing. At 17, he started painting mural posters to make money. By the time I reached 20, I was the owner of a fabric printing business, which collapsed due to a lack of experience. At 23, I had to get a job to make a living. I did and saved some money to start a photography and design studio.

In November 2009, I was so successful that I decided to quit my job but devastated Haiti got me victimized, and I lost everything. That was the time when I kept struggling as a freelance graphic designer, and at last, in November 2012., I got a job as a graphic designer.

The tides then turned into my favor, and I kept getting higher on the success ladder, became media and advertising manager, and finally a marketing coordinator. Over this course, I learned a lot to achieve the ultimate goal of creating my heartfelt forum with my beautiful wife. I left my job, and now I want to focus on Portem only.

Portrem is beyond a business that earns me well. In fact, it feeds my soul and is entranced by my vision of spreading love and smiles on the faces of my clients globally. I sketch portraits for birthdays, anniversaries, and weddings, and the smiles my work leaves on my clients' faces give me the strength to do more for them.

How did it All Start?

Portem makes people happy the way I did when I sketched for my wife and gave life a new beginning! Yes, it wouldn't be like this if I weren't clueless at one point in life. Like many others, I hadn't figured out the perfect gift that could tell my wife how much I love her. I knew it wasn't any expensive yacht or a luxury trip. Knowing her deeply tells me she craves something more profound. That's when I thought to paint her portrait with all the love and care I have for her.

When I started out, my passion wasn't to start a business and succeed at it. My passion has always been spreading love and helping people who want to show their love but are clueless about the ways. So having the right values and passion for business are the key ingredients to having a thriving success.

Passion is what drives you. Passion keeps you going despite the difficulties that your business will inevitably come across. I had many opportunities to throw up my arms and give up, but my passion caused me to keep going. I couldn't think about anything but making my business reality and helping thousands of people through it.
